Student Job KVB driver

Cologne - for many it is a dream ride: a real train ... For Robert Sauerwein, it is also a job with which he can increase his small student budget. The pharmacy student was looking for a job and landed at the Cologne transport companies - as a tram driver.
The KVB thus breaks new ground: Robert Sauerwein is set as a student KVB driver controls for 10.33 euros per hour up to 20 hours a week, the low orbits around the city.
"At one stop, I read the job and thought: Wow, that's something for me! That you do in any case, "says the 22-year-old. No sooner said than done: After a seven-week training could begin there. The KVB driver's license in his pocket, he and four other students go since mid-September for the KVB.
With good results: Joachim Berger, spokesperson for the Cologne public transport is excited about the young drivers: "Overall we have had very good experiences with the students. But: Due to the shortened training, seven weeks instead of three months, they will be prepared and used only for certain routes. "
Last year, the KVB first set to have a student driver - they should be for the "normal" driver's a relief, for example, at major events. On his way feels the budding pharmacists trained well: "Now I only lines 1 and 9 In the training time I got to know the cars and signals. "
This is important because the road train travel is not easy: "That looks easy, but it can happen. Pedestrians are sometimes annoying! This will be even more cautious in private road, "says the student. Robert Sauerwein of fun, but compensated for many a trouble.
The job was for him that is a childhood dream come true: "As a child I'm already gone like tram - but would have never thought that I would go one day myself."
